Dr. Rolf Mützenich is a member of the German Bundestag, in which he serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on Disarmament, Arms Control and Nonproliferation. He works as the official foreign policy spokesman of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) and as a member of the party’s Security-Political Commission. He was a researcher at the SPD Parliamentary Group before being elected to the Bundestag in 2002. In addition to his parliamentary position, he is a lecturer at the University of Cologne and is a member of the board of the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies. He has written at length on regional security framework, the role of regional powers, nuclear proliferation and Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

The Honorable Akihisa Nagashima is a member of Japan’s House of Representatives serving as ranking member of the House Committee on National Security. He is also a visiting professor at Chuo and Keio universities.

Previously, Nagashima held the positions of senior vice minister of defense, special advisor to the prime minister for foreign affairs and national security and parliamentary vice minister of defense. He was a visiting fellow at the Center for U.S.-Japan Studies and Cooperation at Vanderbilt University, chief political analyst at the Heisei Research Institute of Tokyo, chief of staff at the office of Representative Nobuteru Ishihara (LDP-Tokyo) and a professional lecturer of constitutional law at the Tokyo Bunka Junior College.

Nagashima received his master’s degree from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in 1997 and his masters of law from Keio University Graduate School of Law in 1988. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1986 and bachelors of law from Keio University in 1984.

Since his retirement from the Indian military, Lieutenant General Satish Nambiar has been actively engaged in the study and analysis of United Nations peacekeeping operations, national security matters and international relations. Nambiar was elected to the Council of the United Service Institution of India in 1995 and became the director of the institution in 1996. He is on the International Advisory Council of the Folke Bernadotte Academy in Sandoverken, Sweden.

Since September 2002, Nambiar has been advising the government of Sri Lanka on certain aspects of the Sri Lankan peace process. In 2003, he was nominated by the secretary-general of the United Nations to serve on a 16-member, high-level panel, set up to study global security threats and recommend measures for effective collective action. Nambiar is also a distinguished fellow at the Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses and an associate member of the India International Centre, both in New Delhi.

General Klaus Naumann is a retired four-star general of the German army and was the chair of the North Atlantic Military Committee from 1996 to 1999. In 2000, he was a member of the United Nations Panel on UN Peace Operations, and in 2001 he was a member of the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty. Naumann also served as a commissioner of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament.

Naumann is a member of the Global Zero Nuclear Risk Reduction Commission and the Global Zero NATO-Russia Commission.

Dr. Masashi Nishihara is president of the Research Institute for Peace and Security Tokyo. Previously, he served as president of the National Defense Academy, Yokosuka, where he was also a professor of international relations. Among others, Nishihara is a member of the Trilateral Commission as well as the U.K.-Japan 21st Century Group. From 2004 to 2006, he served as a member of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission chaired by former Swedish Foreign Minister Hans Blix. Nishihara has published extensively on Japanese foreign and security policy issues and has contributed to international newspapers such as the International New York Times and the Washington Post.

Her Majesty Queen Noor is an international humanitarian activist and an outspoken voice on issues of world peace and justice. Born Lisa Najeeb Halaby to an Arab-American family, she met His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal of Jordan while working abroad and was married in 1978.

Today, Her Majesty Queen Noor plays a major role in promoting international exchange and understanding of Arab and Muslim culture and politics, Arab-Western relations and conflict prevention and issues related to refugees, missing persons, poverty and disarmament. The initiatives of the Noor Al Hussein Foundation (NHF) have transformed development thinking in Jordan through pioneering programs in the areas of poverty eradication, health, women’s empowerment, microfinance and arts as a medium for social development and cross-cultural exchange.

Retired General Bernard Norlain is the president of the Comité d’Études de la Défense Nationale and director of the Revue Défense Nationale. Norlain is the former air defense commander and air combat commander of the French Air Force and has logged more than 6,000 hours of flight as a fighter pilot. He served as military adviser to French Prime Ministers Jacques Chirac and Michel Rocard. He was director of the French Institute for National Defense Studies, vice-president of Deloitte & Touche and chairman of the Sofema group.

Norlain is a member of the Nuclear Crisis Group, the Global Zero Commission on Nuclear Risk Reduction and the Global Zero NATO-Russia Commission.

Dr. Sari Nusseibeh is a professor of Islamic and political philosophy and was president of Al-Quds University in Jerusalem from 2005 to 2014. He is the founder and head of the Palestinian Consultancy Group and founder and co-chairman of the Israel/Palestine Scientific Organization. He was a member of the steering committee of the delegation to the Peace Talks between Palestine and Israel, heading the technical and advisory committees. In 2005 and 2007, Foreign Policy and Prospect Magazine selected Nusseibeh as one of the 100 leading world figures. He held the position of fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars in 2002 and at the Baker Institute for Foreign Policy at Rice University in 2007. Nusseibeh has authored many publications, including his book “No Trumpets, No Drums: A Two-State Settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.”
